Sudden movement on A-2586
After months of inactivity, bill A-2586 is suddenly moving. The bill is being heard this Monday, June 17, by the state Assembly Budget Committee.
It is not clear at this time what exactly will be heard, if there were any amendments, and why it was referred to the Assembly Budget Committee. It is however very reminiscent of the way the Senate Bill, S-1534, was suddenly moving and approved last year.
There’s absolutely no reason for any private college to develop without any oversight from their host communities and beyond. This bill is a terrible idea, and must be stopped.
Your action is needed.
The Assembly Budget Committee needs to hear our collective opposition to this bill. If you can, please attend in person on Monday Jun 17, 10:00 am, Committee Room 11, 4th Floor, State House Annex, Trenton.
If you are unable to attend in person, please consider contacting the members of this Assembly Budget Committee:
